The Horse That Started it All!

This is Our Story

Horses became a part of my life at a young age, growing up on a Standardbred farm. My early experiences with these magnificent creatures, especially the young horses who followed me along the fence line, sparked a lifelong passion. Joining Pony Club further enriched this journey, teaching me how to engage with horses safely and correctly.

Like many horse owners, I have had numerous horses come and go, but one horse will always hold a special place in my heart.

My riding journey began at Greystone Equestrian Center in 2010 with Windy, show name Windy Knight, a horse whose friendship would last over 12 years. Windy, a stallion at the time, offered invaluable lessons in communication, body language, and trust. Together, we navigated some thrilling moments and achieved significant milestones.

In 2015, Windy was gelded with the goal of becoming a children's lesson pony. However, it soon became evident that his path lay elsewhere. I took on a full lease, and just months after his gelding, Windy became the National Dressage Pony Cup Champion, ultimately leading us to the National Pony Cup at the Kentucky Horse Park.

After facing my own health issues and a break from riding, Windy and I rebuilt our partnership, culminating in our successful use of a double bridle in 2017—a goal we worked hard to achieve. Windy’s versatility became evident as he participated in various activities, from Pony Club camp to trail riding, and even liberty work.

In December 2019, I had the privilege of purchasing Windy, further solidifying our partnership. We continued to train and show, progressing to 3rd level. However, in 2021, Windy began developing neurological symptoms. After a significant episode, we paused his riding career to focus on his recovery. With the support of a dedicated team, Windy made a remarkable recovery, and we were hopeful for the 2022 show season. Unfortunately, another neurological episode led to a difficult decision to retire him from competitive riding. We transitioned to a new chapter, where Windy helped individuals with disabilities develop horsemanship skills and explore their emotions through equine-assisted learning. His calm and compassionate nature brought comfort and healing to many, and I am forever grateful to have witnessed this part of his story.

Sadly, Windy passed away on May 30, 2022. His passing was a deeply painful moment, but I take comfort in knowing he is now at rest in a peaceful place alongside other beloved hero horses. Windy taught me invaluable lessons about perseverance, patience, hard work, kindness, and love.

Though I don’t fully understand why God allows us to love so deeply for such a short time, I trust in His plan. As Alfred Lord Tennyson’s poem reminds us, “'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.” I will forever cherish the time I had with Windy and the profound impact he had on my life.

                                                      May his legacy live on.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." – Jeremiah 29:11

Meet the Founder: Elizabeth Davis

Elizabeth’s passion for helping both horses and people led her to become a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) in 2016. She served as the lead instructor and volunteer manager at an adaptive riding center until 2022, leaving a meaningful and lasting impact on the clients, volunteers, and horses she supported.

Her teaching philosophy centers on safety, enjoyment, and individualized instruction for every client—equine or human. Elizabeth is committed to creating an engaging, supportive learning environment where clients feel empowered to grow, express their abilities, and reach their goals.

"As an instructor, I recognize the importance of adapting to each client’s unique learning style. My goal is to create an environment where clients feel confident, capable, and able to make meaningful progress."

Why Trust White Horse Services?

With a degree in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies from Indiana University, more than a decade of experience in adaptive riding and equine-assisted services, and 15+ years working with not-for-profit organizations, Elizabeth brings a foundation of professionalism, ethics, and compassion to every service she provides.

She is also certified through Saddlefit 4 Life as both an Equine Ergonomist and Saddle Fitter, allowing her to expertly evaluate and support the comfort and performance of each horse-and-rider pair.

Her Approach to Equine Body Support Services

Elizabeth believes equine body support services are not a luxury—they are essential to responsible horse care. By reducing tension, improving circulation, and supporting proper muscle function, these services help horses move comfortably, recover efficiently, and remain mentally relaxed.

Her core philosophy is simple:

  • Comfort creates confidence. When a horse feels good, it learns and performs with trust and willingness.

  • Prevention is powerful. Regular body support services identifies and relieves tension before it becomes behavioral or chronic.

  • The whole horse matters. Supporting muscle health, posture, and relaxation enhances the work of trainers, veterinarians, farriers, and riders—creating long-term well-being from the inside out.

Please Note:
Elizabeth is not a certified equine bodyworker or sports massage therapist. Her services focus on supportive, non-invasive techniques designed to improve comfort, relaxation, and overall well-being. For clients seeking deeper muscle work or specialized therapeutic intervention, she is happy to connect you with trusted, certified equine massage professionals who can provide advanced bodywork and additional insights to further support your horse’s health.

“These services are Inspiring, effective and thorough."
“Elizabeth is very patient and very observant; she can tell that something is going on (inside my head) and she gently helps me work through my mental and physical tension. By the end of our time together I feel energized and uplifted by the shared experience. I also LOVE her focus on BODYWORK!!! "
“Her posture and form have improved as has her ability to control her horse. We are very pleased with the new skill sets that the biomechanics and Franklin ball lessons have given her. Elizabeth is very polite and has a gentle demeanor with both the horse and the rider. She is very articulate and easy to understand while the rider is on the horse. Our daughter states, 'I have improved significantly as a rider in just a few months.' "
